When my son was transitioning to solids, I made most of his food. I cooked in large batches and would store in cubes, then thaw cubes out in a bowl of warm water and then transfer to a bowl. This wasn't difficult but it would have been nice to have one less thing to do as a mom with a new baby. Now you can skip the cube & bowl/spoon situation and just fill a pouch, freeze, and grab and go when you're ready. Super easy to just throw in your diaper bag and let thaw. When you are finished feeding your babe, just cap it and throw back in your bag. It will easily wash up by hand with a bottle brush and warm soapy water, or rinse and place in the top rack of your dishwasher.
Here are a few features of these little cuties:
Portion, store, freeze & serve homemade baby food all in one squeezable, refillable pouch
Ideal for storing batches of homemade baby food
Easy to fill, easy to squeeze, easy to wash. These pouches are even dishwasher safe!
Baby safe & non toxic - Pouches are eco friendly, feature a non choke cap and are free of BPA, Lead, Phthlates

Here is a simple and delicious recipe perfect for your child's lunchbox Squooshi or as an on-the-go snack. I made this for Reid's lunchbox today using frozen cubes of mango. The cubes were a little harder to blend so I added a splash of coconut milk to get the blender moving. Reid says..."tastes like frozen yogurt!". This recipe makes 1 large Squooshi and would probably fill one more large pouch, but it was so good I finished it off myself! This would be great to make in a larger batch and freeze for a frosty treat. Just double or triple the recipe and fill as many Squooshi reusable food pouches as you have on hand. Want some extra greens for your little one? I'm sure a handful of spinach thrown in here would be just as good. Enjoy!
1 Cup Mango cubes (fresh, frozen or thawed)
1/2 Cup Full Fat plain yogurt
Pinch of ground cardamom
Puree in your blender of choice and spoon into your Squooshi.
Ingredients
2 pears
1 C green beans
1/4 C Greek yogurt
How to Make It
Peel and chop the pears. In a sauce pan, add a small amount of water and poach the pears until tender. Set aside.
Wash, tip and tail the green beans and steam until tender. Chop until small pieces and set aside.
Combine pears, beans and yogurt in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour or spoon into your favorite Squooshi reusable food pouch!
]]>This has been a favorite recipe in our house for several years. It started as a green smoothie that was tweaked and perfected to our taste and then named “The Little Green Monster” in honor of Reid, who is my own little green monster.
This blend is packed with vitamins, minerals, protein and healthy fat. It blends up a beautiful bright green and is just delicious. Sweet and creamy without a hint of spinach grit. For extra protein, add some chia or hemp seeds.
Reid & I hope you love it as much as we do!

1 scoop Greek yogurt

Squooshi started with an idea that I had when Reid was 15 months old. As a mom trying to feed my son the healthiest, homemade food possible, I saw a need for a product that just wasn't out there. One that I thought could be so helpful: a reusable pouch for squishy food. Like yummy green pudding with pears, peas and spinach. And pumpkin purees perfect for the Halloween season.
Squooshi pouches are for all parents who care about what their kids eat, have trouble getting their kids to eat healthy, or don't like the high cost of packaged food. They're also great for parents to take to work, or on hikes and bike rides. Check back soon for more design choices for all age groups!
In addition, Squooshi pouches help reduce the waste created by off the shelf squeeze food pouches.
I hope you enjoy Squooshi pouches as much as we do in our house. Get your Squooshi pouches now!

For tips on making homemade baby food thicker, we love this thoughtful article by Maggie Mead at WholesomeBabyFood.com.
Testing new flavors, flavor combinations and textures is part of the fun of introducing your baby to new foods, much as variety continues to be for children and adults. Anyone who has tried the "Just grapefruits" or "Just meats" types of diets can attest: variety is the spice of life (at least as far as food goes). The same old thing gets boring, and baby learns this quickly.
Once you've passed the introducing-one-food-item-at-a-time phase of homemade baby food, you can start adding in nutritional powerhouse items that also add texture. For example, ground flax seed, bits of raisins, even well chopped broccoli tops (just don't be alarmed when you find little bits of broccoli tops in baby's diaper the next day), all work well in a reusable food pouch too. Have fun experimenting and don't forget to have the camera nearby, as baby is bound to showcase some fabulous new expressions as she tries new flavors and consistencies. Then share your photos with our Squooshi community.

We like to consider this little sweetie our "Mikey" because she has some very strong opinions. The good news? "Mikey likes it!" Yes folks, she says,
"Squooshi baby food pouches are so cool! My favorite recipe is baked sweet potato, mixed with a little cinnamon and a dash of milk. Organic of course."
What is your little one's favorite recipe? Tell us below.
]]>Ingredients
4 large carrots
2 large apples
2 cups loosely packed fresh spinach (I use pre-washed organic)
Making your own baby food for on the go nutrition is simple and rewarding. My son loves this recipe, as do my husband and I. It’s an even healthier version of applesauce.
Steam the carrots until they are soft.
Add the apples on top of the carrots for the last few minutes – I like them to soften a little but not get mushy.
Puree together with the raw spinach adding the steaming water as needed to get the desired consistency. I currently use a Vitamix (which I LOVE!).

A bottle brush helps for corners, caps, and stubborn stickies - you know, those oooey gooey messes left under the car seat for a week or so.
Air dry.
