← Cornucopia of Recipes for Baby's First Thanksgiving Pumpkin, Apple & Spinach →

4 large carrots
2 large apples
2 cups loosely packed fresh spinach (I use pre-washed organic, it’s just easier for me).

Making your own baby food for on the go nutrition is simple and rewarding. My son Viggo loves this recipe, as do my husband and I. It’s an even healthier version of applesauce.

Steam the carrots until they are soft.
Add the apples on top of the carrots for the last few minutes – I like them to soften a little but not get mushy.

Puree together with the raw spinach adding the steaming water as needed to get the desired consistency. I currently use a Vitamix (which I LOVE!).

This recipe yields enough real food puree to fill four 4.5oz (large) Squooshi pouches and two 2.5 oz (small) Squooshi pouches.
